Radley Balko: A Few Questions for John McCain

On, of all places, foxnews.com, Radley Balko (Fox contributing writer and senior editor of “Reason” Magazine) has an excellent article posing some questions to presumptive GOP nominee John McCain.  Among the questions he outlines are these zingers:

  • In your book “Worth Fighting For,” you write, “Our greatness depends upon our patriotism, and our patriotism is hardly encouraged when we cannot take pride in the highest public institutions.” You’ve also said that “national pride will not survive the people’s contempt for government.” Do you really believe that the government is the root of American greatness? Would we better off as a nation if people refrained from criticizing the government? Does patriotism require us to support our country, “right or wrong?”
  • Is it the government’s job to make us better people? If so, by whose definition of “better?”

If you are going to McCain’s ”town hall meeting” in Kansas City later this week, we would encourage you to take a copy of this article along…

Honestly, someone should be asking McCain a great deal more. Such as his suicidal rush to fast track illegal aliens to the front of the line thereby slapping every other honest person in the face who has done it properly or how about his classifying the records of POW and MIA’s from Vietnam ( just type in http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com) – you can find this subject on You-Tube as well. There are oter questions as well and people should present those questions to him in droves…
